Selective Hoax Beliefs

With Americans and the rest of the world currently dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic, the infection rate and death rates are staggering.  However, it is surprising many are not believing this danger, much less how to protect each other.

I have heard and read that this is all a hoax.   It is fake news, and information from our government is not to be trusted.

Ok.  But what if I told you that our current death rate from Covic-19  of about 145,000 in the US, is half of another killer among us, and it does not get any news time?

Currently, over 40% of Americans are obese.  Not a hoax, or fake news.  Just look around you, you will notice there are a lot of large people.  And it is estimated that the death rate from obesity is possibly up to 365,000 annually!

How did this happen?  When did this happen?

The obesity rate in the US in 1977 was about 12%.  And then- skyrocketed, to over 40% now, and climbing!

What happened in 1977? – the US Government published its first guidelines of how Americans should eat- the famous USDA Food Pyramid!

So, why did we not consider that a hoax?  And in this era of not trusting the government, we still appear to be following those guidelines?  Why is this not fake news?

There is more.  Did it ever occur to you that we are getting our guidelines of what we should eat from the USDA?  That is the Department of Agriculture.  These folks are tasked with ensuring there are markets for the products our farmers grow- wheat, corn, oats, soybeans, etc.  Could there be a conflict of interest in that organization telling us what to eat?  Plus, they redo these guidelines every five years.  There are huge business lobbyists working to ensure their products make the cut and get recommended as our diet guidelines.

To circle back to Covid-19.  Many of the people dying from that virus have underlying health conditions.   Were you aware that obesity is one of those conditions? So, without the virus up to 365,000 die- now the virus will push that number higher.

We here at Low Carb Life believe that the food pyramid is a major hoax, and the newly released USDA food guidelines are truly fake news. So, if you are one to not believe in the virus, maybe take a look at the food pyramid, and how following that may be causing you harm.
